Meet Bill

Over the past 10 years, I have been teaching and tutoring elementary and middle school students with a wide variety of skills and needs. I very much enjoy the experience of working individually with such a diverse range of children. In addition, I believe strongly that including and coordinating with children's families and teachers is extremely valuable in order to identify each child’s specific strengths and needs.

Together, it has been very rewarding to help students grow their academic skills and confidence, with flexibility and care. I am happy to meet virtually, and in person locally near Burlingame, California, where I live with my wife and two teenage children.

Experiences from Past Families

  • “Bill has been helping my son for the last 5 years. My son struggled in school with comprehension, staying focused and even not wanting to learn. Bill noticed all these issues and worked with my son in ways to make it fun and interesting. Bill used his magic to understand my son and adapted to his learning disabilities. He made school and learning fun. My son looks forward to visiting Bill weekly. Bill is extremely accommodating and always looks after what is best for my Son.”

  • “Birds Eye Tutoring takes a personal approach and is 100% vested in our son's well-being, across academics, as well as social and emotional health. In addition to working on assignments across multiple subjects, Birds Eye Tutoring works with our son to build strong study habits with proven success. More importantly Birds Eye Tutoring is engaging and warm. We have been using them for a few years now and are so thankful we found them. We highly recommend them to any family.”

  • “I highly recommend Bill. My son loves him! When we skip a session, he asks about him. Bill has been tutoring my son for over a year. My son is 9 years old and needed some help with his reading and writing in English because we don't speak English at home. His approach was to make my son like reading, and enjoy the time with him. And it worked! Since then, my son is now at level in reading and making great progress in writing. One last thing, Bill is really kind and patient, he is really good with kids.”

The Process

To help your child I start by meeting with you, care-givers and teachers to understand your child’s strengths and where help is needed. Based on this input, I develop a custom learning plan which we review together. The plan includes regular check-ins and feedback opportunities to make sure your child is progressing and learning.

Tutoring sessions are typically 50 minutes at least once a week. This can vary based on the child’s learning style and school workload.
